IIT-JEE 2020 Exam Guidance

When it comes to JEE preparation, candidates have to focus on discipline, learning time management, following a routine and clearing basic concepts.

JEE Main 2020 to be held by the National Testing Agency (NTA), Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main is the national level undergraduate engineering entrance exam and the gateway for the admission to various B.Tech/B.E. programmes offered by 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 CFTIs.

Note: Candidates can appear twice for JEE Main 2020 -January and April

Eligibility Criteria

·         Age: There is no age criteria for JEE main 2020

·         Students must have passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2018 or 2019. Appearing in 2020 is also eligible for the Main test.

·         Candidates must have studied a minimum of 5 subjects which will be considered. They are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject, Language and any other subject.

·         Number of attempts: 2 times in year. Candidates can appear for JEE Main for three years consecutively therefore the total attempts allowed for each student will be six only in 3 years

·         For JEE Main Paper II: if you are applying for B.Arch programme you must have to passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually & in aggregate.

·         Qualifying Marks for Admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs & CFTIs: Gen/OBC - minimum of 75% marks or should be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards and for SC/ST category must have minimum scores of 65% or be in the top 20 percentile of their boards.

Some of the tips

·         Work on your calculations in terms of accuracy & speed

·         Work on your analytical skills (Try to use different different trick to solve the same question)

·         Study for long time without losing focus

·         Focus on learning concepts and apply them on problem solving

Strategy from Class 11

A structure & systematic study plan from 11th class will help you in securing a good rank in IIT-JEE 2020-21. In 11 class focus on all the important topics & all the concepts well because in 12th class candidates will find use of the most of the topics of 11 calls. Candidates have to build up interest in all the three subjects PCM – Physics, Chemistry & Math equally. Make a weekly task and make sure that you have to achieve your daily or weekly target to covering all of the 3 subjects.

Note:  If candidate are willing to join coacing then it will be very easy as you just have to follow your mentors and complete your assignments on timely.

Things to Avoid

·         Excessive use of Social Media/ TV/ Video games

·         Postponing the things

·         Don’t read too many books

·         Avoid mugging up unless it’s few chemistry part or basic formulas

·         Avoid depressed if you are getting low scores in tests
