MHT CET 2020 Exam Dates

MHT CET -MH CET or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai for admissions to first-year Engineering and Technology programmes (BE/B.Tech) and Pharmacy programmes (B. Pharma/D. Pharma) in the state. Till 2018, the exam used to be conducted by DTE, Maharashtra. In 2013, the exam was scrapped and the admission to undergraduate engineering programmes (BE/B.Tech) was done on the basis of JEE Main. However, from 2016 onwards, the exam was started again after which the government assigned 50% weightage to Class 12 marks and 50% to CET scores, instead. From 2018, MHT CET was mandatory for admissions in the state.

·         MHT CET 2020 will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will be held from April 13-18, 2020 and the second phase will be held from April 20-23, 2020

·         MHT CET 2020 Counselling will begin in the second week of June 2020 and Candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their preference, rank and availability of seats in the college

·         There is no age limit to appear in MHT CET 2020.

·         Total Marks:                                 200

·         Number of Questions:                   50 from each Subject

·         Negative marking:                         No

MHT CET 2020 Eligibility

To apply for MHT CET 2020, candidates passed/appearing in HSC/12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized board will be eligible to apply for the exam. As per DTE Maharashtra, 85% of the seats in private unaided engineering institutes in Maharashtra will be filled through MHT CET, while 15% seats will be reserved for All India Quota based on MHT CET.

1.       Candidates passing SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of Science Examination from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State.

2.       Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/ or is born in Maharashtra;

3.       A Candidate, who does not fall in above 2nd point, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.

4.       A Candidate who does not fall in either 1st and 2nd points but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.

5.       A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above 2nd and 3rd points and above point but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.

6.       Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognised institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.

7.       The candidate should be a citizen of India.

8.       Female candidates are not eligible for a mining engineering course.

MHT CET 2020 Exam Centers

·         MHT-CET 2020 will be conducted by online mode at almost all the district headquarters in the State of Maharashtra.

·         Outside Maharasthra the Capital Districts of the selected states like Delhi-NCR, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka,  Jharkhand, Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh could be the centers for examination.
